Bed Bug Extermination Service

Bedbugs are small, brownish insects that feed solely on the blood of animals. Although common bed bugs prefer feeding on humans, they will also bite other warm-blooded creatures including dogs and cats.

Adult bed bugs are about 3/16-inch long and reddish-brown, with oval, flattened bodies. They can be mistaken for ticks or other household insects due to their size and coloration but they do not fly or jump like fleas. The immature bedbugs (nymphs) resemble the adults in shape but have a lighter brown coloring.

Bed bugs are a serious issue that can cause significant discomfort to those who have an infestation. Bed bugs bite and suck blood from their host, humans or animals, during the night while they’re sleeping. They feed for five minutes on average between each feeding session. This means that if you are bitten by bed bugs 50 times in one night it’s going to take at least an hour of sleep time away from you.

To provide a clean and healthy home for your family, bed bugs need to be eliminated. The Termites and Pests team has the experience you can trust with this process of elimination.

There is never only one type of solution when it comes down to eliminating these pests so there will always be some level of management necessary.

Sign of Infestation

Bed bugs can go undetected for a long time and usually have to be identified by their fecal spots on surfaces.

Bed bugs are tiny, but they can be found by looking for physical signs such as rusty or reddish stains on bedsheets and mattresses. Dark spots may also indicate that the insects have been crushed. Look carefully at your mattress; you may find eggs in shades of pale yellow with a small size (about 1mm). You might even notice live bedbugs!
